through the passage is a "best of" compilation which is just about the silliest thing imaginable. each of the passage's albums hold together as a cohesive whole, so trying to patch together a couple from over here and a couple from over there - well, it's just a doomed task. the tracks from pindrop sound ridiculously lo-fi and technically sophomoric when resting next to masterfully slick cuts like taboos. credit to cherry red for pulling together the best of the singles together in one place, although there aren't even any rarities or remixes. something from the new love songs ep would have at least kept things tasty scott gibbons |
